Benevity celebrates over $150 million donated during Giving Tuesday 2025

A record-breaking Giving Tuesday: over $150 million donated! This year, the Benevity client community proved once again that purpose is stronger than ever. Despite a challenging economic landscape, you helped facilitate over $150 million in donations to nearly 60,000 nonprofits in 114 countries on Giving Tuesday. That is a massive 7.2% increase in donation volume compared to last year. “The success of this year’s Giving Tuesday is a testament to the generosity that is unlocked when people can connect and engage in the causes that matter most to them. These moments reconnect and rejuvenate people through their work – on behalf of the world.” - Soraya Alexander, CEO, Benevity. What is even more inspiring is who showed up. Nearly 16% of donations came from first-time donors, and volunteer participation grew by 9.2%. In a world where every dollar counts, your community stepped up to support the causes they care about most — with a donation made nearly every second throughout the day. This year’s highlights include:$150 million+ donated  60,000 global nonprofits 165,000+ individuals participated 7.2% increase in donation volume 23,000+ individual volunteers Top causes supported include: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Room to Read, National Center for Families Learning and United Way Greater Toronto. This is what collective impact looks like. Thank you for empowering your employees to be the heroes Giving Tuesday needs. Read the full press release

Key highlights from the Benevity Community — our last 12 months together

Key highlights from the Benevity Community — our last 12 months together

Welcome to our refreshed Community home! As we build momentum in our new space, we wanted to take a moment to look back at the ideas and conversations that shaped the Benevity Community over the past year. These reflections are a reminder of what you and your peers prioritized — and the insights, challenges and opportunities that came as a result. 📊 Measuring impact beyond dollarsMany of you asked: “How do we quantify social return — not just spend?” Conversations around outcomes, employee engagement and data-driven storytelling were among the most active. There’s strong interest in frameworks that show both qualitative and quantitative value. What we learned: Impact measurement is evolving and you need to embrace both stories and numbers. Data tells you what’s happening; stories reveal why it matters — anchor your metrics in stories, testimonials and feedback loops. 🚀 Scaling employee giving and volunteeringHow do you grow participation without burdening staff? You were inquisitive about incentive design, micro-volunteering and matching strategies that generated consistent engagement. A recurring question: what is the “sweet spot” for buy-in and sustainability? What we learned: Start inclusive, scale thoughtfully. Begin with small, low-friction programs, test internally, then scale. Invite voices from underrepresented groups early into the design process to avoid rework. 🤝 Stakeholder alignment and internal buy‑inFrom executives to legal, compliance to marketing — getting organizational support is a common hurdle. There was focus on narratives for leadership, risk mitigation and how to position CSR as part of core business strategy. What we learned: Leadership support isn’t a one-time win — it’s sustained through alignment, a refreshed narrative, visible early wins and engaging internal skeptics. 💫 Innovation and experimentationSome clients shared how they piloted new program models (e.g. skills-based volunteering, social procurement, microgrants). These “test and learn” stories received strong engagement because they resonated with individuals pushing boundaries in their organizations. What we learned: Experimentation is essential. Don’t let perfection block progress. Pilot new formats, adapt based on feedback and iterate. 👥 This Community is your greatest resourceThe most helpful advice frequently came from peers asking “here’s what we tried — what would you do differently?”What we learned: Mutual openness within the Community is what accelerated learning for many! Thank you to everyone who has taken the time thus far to share their insights, ask a hard question or help make a fellow impact leader feel more connected. We know you’re often small, but mighty teams. Our hope is that this space makes you feel less alone and more supported as you grow your critical programs. 💙 Join the conversation — and keep the momentum goingHead over to discussions and post a question you’ve been wrestling with or start a conversation. Need help? Here’s how to get started. Review unanswered questions from your peers — your insights could be the piece that helps them move forward. Check out the most active discussions to see what’s gaining traction and join in.
