[Sept.16, 2026] Get to know faster disbursements
This session dug into faster disbursements: how Benevity is closing the gap between a pledge and a nonprofit receiving funds, and what that shift means for your program.
What you'll find:
- Why the timeline matters. The donation life cycle has historically taken 30 to 60 days from pledge to disbursement. Benevity moved from a monthly to a weekly cadence, and average time to disbursement has dropped from 15 days at launch in April to as short as 12 days recently, with a continued focus on staying under 14 days.
- How it works. Faster disbursements is live for grants and employee engagement. To enroll, you need a Corporate DAF or Global DAF with enough advance donations to cover a quarter's donation volume. Donation commitments run Monday to Sunday, with a Donation Report generated the following Monday and funds sent to nonprofits around day 12 to 14.
- Corporate DAF vs. Global DAF. Corporate DAF is held by a foundation in its native currency and managed more hands-on by you. Global DAF is held in USD by the American Online Giving Foundation, with currency exchange handled by the Benevity managed services team, a more self-service option for programs juggling multiple currencies.
- The employee and nonprofit experience. Employees can track a donation's progress through their giving history, and nonprofits can combine multiple Donation Reports into a single file for easier reconciliation through the Causes portal.
- A peer perspective. Ashley from PayPal shared why the team moved to a Global DAF, consolidating currency management and cutting administrative work, along with real examples of nonprofits and employees noticing the faster turnaround.
